Sciencey Stuff
(which is really cool & you are totally allowed to geek out about)

An essential oil is a collection of chemical compounds that protects and heals the plant at the cellular level.
Oils are produced when the plant is in distress and then collected by cold pressing citrus rinds or through the careful process of steam distillation of roots, stems, leaves, flower petals, resin, and bark.
They contain very small molecules that can penetrate cell membranes. When inhaled, it only takes approximately 30 seconds for these molecules to reach the brain, which can stimulate the limbic system – the center of your hormone and emotion production.
Three ways to enjoy these oils – Aromatically, Topically, and Internally.
Aromatic – diffusing or simply breathing in.
Topically – rubbing on your skin.
Internally – Young Living has a line of Vitality oils that are labeled specifically for ingestion.
There are many oils that are GRAS (generally regarded as safe) for ingestion, and the Vitality label makes it easy to know which ones can be. Pro tip – If there’s a Vitality oil that also comes in a non-vitality bottle, it’s the same oil.
